Ministries for adults

Congregational care:     The congregational care committee assists Avondale members in a variety of ways.  The meal ministry provides food when members are ill.  Telephone calls are made to members on a daily basis -- just to check in. Holiday baskets are prepared for members who are no longer able to come to church. Transportation is provided for members who can no longer drive. Nurses check blood pressure after Sunday services for members once a month. The committee also coordinates the prayer tree, through which members makes prayer requests.

Family Life Center:     Our family life center's recreation facilities provide all members of the church and our neighbors a chance to socialize and play a game of basketball or volleyball.

Presbyterian Women:     Avondale has six circles that meet regularly. Four circles follow a traditional program (a short business meeting, a Bible study, and a time to socialize). The two other circles emphasize fellowship and service.  Each circle is a caring community of women that through its projects supports the congregation, the local community, and the Presbyterian Church worldwide.

Presbyterian Men:  A group of men from Avondale gather for breakfast on Friday mornings at the Charlotte Cafe for a time of study and fellowship.
